I see how I kept this part of my morning experience to myself. But as soon as I published the last post I felt a discord in my body.
So here is another part of my morning–
After I woke up the second time this morning I opened my emails and read a post by Richard Branson. I admire him and follow his blogs. In the post he wrote about a vacation that he took with his top CEO’s and how they all went for a hike and stopped at the top of a cliff. He then went on to say that he suggested each of them jump off the cliff into the sea because he and his family have done it many times. Then he said as they were jumping off the cliff he realized that the water was too rough that day and that they were all in a dangerous situation. What the F–K! Is what I said to myself as I was reading that post. Where were all these people’s guidance systems telling them that “that water looks a bit rough for me to jump off a cliff”. He then said how he was “terrified for them”.
While reading this post I noticed my heart start to race and I began sweating. I also noticed that I felt scared. So I stopped and felt my feelings of annoyance at Richard Branson for asking his CEO’s to do that and annoyed at all those CEO’s for literally taking the plunge. But, mostly, I felt a sadness for the little girl inside of me that didn’t know enough to be able to say to the Richard Branson’s of the world NO! The story ends by him saying he watched while a boat came and safely picked everyone up. I am happy that it ended this way. However, I watch my feeling place inside this story.
Now I know this story came to me because I was already in a space/place to receive this story. I was in alignment with that type of a story because of the way I woke up this morning. (If any of you want to go deeper into that idea please comment so we can have more dialogue about that statement)
I am not really angry at Richard Branson or his CEO’s — actually I am in gratitude for the deeper reflection of what I was already feeling. Scared and confused by the way I woke up this morning. So, as I always do, I utilize everything that is in my experience to show me more of who I am and where I am in the moment. I could go into judgement about all of them but that is not how I grow myself up and become present to my life’s experiences. I use the story to go deeper into me. To delve deeply into my history and fast forward it into who I am now in this moment. Not to dwell on the past experiences but to use them to see where I have been and who I choose to be NOW!
Enjoy your Sunday! I know now that I will because I “feel” present and alive and connected to all of me.
