“When we cannot find contentment in ourselves, it is useless to seek it elsewhere.”  Francois De La Rochefoucauld

Meditation and Mirroring is the same for me. That crack pipe incident couldn’t have happened unless I was already vibrating at that place.  I was activated by another business situation a few days before this incident. So when that happened I chose to step back and reevaluate what was being presented to me. What was being mirrored in my life. Sometimes these evaluations and quieting my mind can take a while. I once had a situation that was ongoing for about 3 years.  I kicked and screamed, sometimes literally while in that experience. However, during that experience I cultivated an even deeper meditation practice for myself.

I live by the premise that each of you is my mirror. So whether it’s the drug addict looking for a place to get high and stay for the night or a baby laughing, giggling and burping all at once (love that image) — we are all the same.

Justin Timberlake has a song called Mirrors.  First line: “Aren’t you something to admire ’cause your shine is something like a mirror- And I can’t help but notice you reflect in this heart of mine…”.  I think the writers were speaking about a woman or women outside of themselves.  However, my interpretation is: each person that I encounter in my life is the absolute mirror reflection of where I am at in that exact moment. I may see you as separate, but in actuality, we are all the same trying to see ourselves through each other.

I love this quote-“Love is but the discovery of ourselves in others, and the delight in the recognition.” Alexander Smith

Sometimes “love” comes in the form of a crack pipe incident–as hard as that may be. I know this to be True for me. These kites are one of my mirrors today–free and blowing in the wind!  Enjoy…
