I saw the parts of you that you thought you were hiding.
You were incapable of meeting me in the knowing that I was able to see the deeper parts that you thought you were hiding. But they were there. Hiding in plan sight.
Who do we think we are fooling? Only Ourselves! I am the only one that looses when I do not let my heart shine its brightest and share it with you.
I no longer abandon myself. I was taught to abandon those fiery, funny, fun loving and just plan ALIVE parts of myself. When I see you and see those parts inside of you I want to say “come out and play with me!”
These childlike qualities were repressed when I was that child and should have been able to expand and explore all of those silly (senseless–is one of the definitions of the word silly) parts. And as a child I believe that we do not have to make a lot of sense of things. That is for later in life. HMMM….or is it? Well, I have chosen a life that teases apart trying to make sense (conscious sense) out of what I am feeling or doing? Back to my childlike qualities… The fear and shame that was so prevalent around me taught me to hide and at times implode. And then there was the suspension and the shame of being expelled from school. Now of course, this is a great story.
I was expelled from a Catholic High School because they called me a girl of a thousand faces. I laughed a lot. I smile a lot. I wanted to have fun. I was 14 years old! I was suspended from a job at American Airlines for 3 days for talking too much in the workplace. This was many years ago. It was a time when women were still not allowed to wear pants in the work place. A “patriarchal” rule that didn’t change until somewhere in the mid-1970’s.
Back to present day: I no longer hide, shy away from FUN or adventure. I see you the way I want to be seen. I show up the way I love and desire you to show up. And if you choose consciously or unconsciously to not show up and meet me …..I do not personalize it. I allow for all parts of you. I can only do this by being in allowance and acceptance of “all parts of me.”
I no longer can get “into trouble” for my fun and adventurous life. A life that is worthy of uncontrollable laughter and Joy and also a lot of Messy parts. My biggest and loudest declaration is that:
I AM HERE!
