As I sit here and reflect upon another beautiful day in my life, I want to write and share some “thoughts about my feelings”.

My day started with my niece calling me and of course making me laugh aloud with her quick wit and humor. After much laughter, our conversation continued as we weaved down a rode of felt and unfelt feelings. She was pondering aloud about her life as I reflected on my 60+ years of experiences and discoveries. As we talked, I realized that I truly have no regrets in my life. This feeling arose as she told me that she “didn’t want to make a decision today that would impact her (in a negative way) tomorrow”. I asked her to repeat that statement because I really didn’t understand it.

The only way that I can live in this moment is by –checking in –meaning–connecting with my body and “hearing”/feeling what is going on inside of me. Then I can move with clarity and uncompromised knowing. This type of connecting helps me to make clear choices. I know that if I proceed when I am not connected to my “emotional body” the action that I am “doing” will not be clear and most probably not quite as fulfilling or satisfying as it would be if I first stopped and thought about what I was feeling.

Therefore, to think about “tomorrow” and how my today will influence it is just too much of a “distraction” for me and take me right out of this moment. And this moment is actually all I have to work with, so I want to be fully connected to it by feeling my way into it.
